I don't hate it. And if you wanted something like a GTI or Si that didn't scrape going over stuff, or was easier to get in, then it's a logical choice. The only fault it has is not having an AWD/manual option.

A GTI isn't exactly going to scrap over anything with the stock suspension setup.

I hate it.

It is an excuse to let car companies foist ugly crap on the market.

It should be right in the segment I am looking for.

Just as you said, an AWD performer that doesn't ground out over bumps and bad pavement.

But you couldn't pay me to keep a Juke, Nismo or otherwise.

If Subaru ever WRX-izes their XV Crosstrek, with a 6MT, 3 diff AWD, and ground clearance with 250+ horsepower... that might be something less expensive than a Range Rover Evoque Coupe or a JCW Paceman All4. (All4 barely counts as part-time AWD)

But it will still look like an Impreza, which as bad as that is... is not nearly as bad as looking like a Joke... er, I mean Juke.

It's power numbers over stock are laughable, It's a cosmetic appearance package. This is literally a case of body kit = +10hp +7 lb-ft

I would really like to see them do an SER version with AWD + 6 speed manual + at least 235hp and 210lb-ft, that would be a real competitor to the GTI's and the Si's of the world, an with that torque vectoring systems it should also be good in the twistys.

In all honesty, its a great little car. The engine is very peppy... the automatic isn't bad for an auto, the turbo engine works well with it. It has a great AWD system. And the manual is incredible in it.

Plus, look at that interior!

Kinja'd!!!

The price, at under $30K, is also extremely reasonable.

Its just the outside that its a bit iffy.. but it grows on me

I call it the Jismo.

I was thinkin more about things like potholes than about typical scraping challenges.

Who even needs the NISMO? The base model with the 6-speed is where its at - cheaper and with nearly as much power. Did you realize that the car is only 2900 pounds too? That's 200 less than the 4-door GTI! It seems to be a fairly fun and practical car. The looks have grown on me considerably, too. I would have no problem DDing one.

I mean it's a Nismo, not an SE-R. Look what TRD and Nismo has been doin for years. I mean, it's still competitive though for its class. Plus, I'm not sure what the 1.6 can handle.

I like them as well. And with you as far as model/trim go. They do take some getting used to though.

I would do the Nismo simply because it's tuner ready. No need to do anything else to it cosmetically. And that is crazy! 200 lbs isn't exactly easy to take out of a car.

Same basic engine is used in the Deltawing racecar, It makes 300bhp @ 7,400 rpm.

Sure that's a race application but i am sure this 1.6 can easily handle 235hp.

I am actually quite fond of MOST of the styling on the car. The only thing that I don't like are the front lights. Fix those, and the rest of the car is actually pretty good looking, if you ask me.

Okay. Follow up, who else besides Subaru is putting that kind of power out or this price? The Golf R is 34k+ and everything else merely has comparable power. If they made a Juke-R, then they could do that for ~30k. And it would be appropriate then.

Nobody(beside V6 Mustang but this is a different market segment) but Subaru is, and that's my point. The Juke R name is already being used by the lovely GTR/Juke baby so SER would be the only name left in the Nissan stable(unless they decided to make up some stupid name). They currently sell the Nismo starting at 22k$, price this at 26k$-28k$ and they will be laughing themselves to the bank with a car that would be faster than a (current)Golf R and better value than a (current)WRX.

I like the front lights. They are unlike anything else on the road. And I think that's why I like em.

I like the top lights that streak back across the tops of the fenders. They match the styling of the rest of the car and fit the overall design. I really don't like the lower circular lights, that seem completely incongruous and just tacked on at the last minute.
